Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3: New Vehicles, Features, and Enhancements

Explore the comprehensive guide to Cyberpunk 2077's 2.3 Update, detailing new vehicles, Autodrive, Photo Mode, graphics options, and more.

New Rides and Travel Options

The Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3, released on July 17th, 2025, introduces four new vehicles to Night City, each with specific unlock requirements. Players can acquire the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru by completing “The Beast In Me” and “The Hunt,” followed by an additional side job. The Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred” becomes available after finishing “The Beast In Me: Badlands,” “The Beast In Me: Santa Domingo,” “Transmission,” and “Search and Destroy,” then completing its associated side job. The Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila can be purchased directly through the Autofixer system. For motorcycle enthusiasts, the Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa requires purchasing one Yaiba vehicle, buying three vehicles via Autofixer, and completing the job “Reported Crime: You Play with Fire…” If this side job is failed, the Muramasa can still be acquired later through Autofixer. All new vehicles, except the Aquila, offer customization options for their paint jobs.

Beyond new vehicles, Update 2.3 enhances how players navigate Night City with the introduction of Autodrive. This feature allows players to select a destination on the map and have their vehicle drive autonomously, provided they are on a road. Alternatively, holding the designated button enables free-roam Autodrive. While Autodriving, vehicles adhere to traffic laws, which may extend travel times. A cinematic camera view is available during Autodrive to enhance the experience. Combat encounters are disabled while Autodriving, and while the frequency of attacks during free-roaming Autodrive has been reduced, they can still occur.

For those who prefer not to drive, Delamain’s taxi service is now available. After completing the job “Don’t Lose Your Mind,” players can summon a Delamain cab from the Call Vehicle Menu, offering another way to travel with a cinematic camera option.

Expanded Customization and Photo Mode

Vehicle customization receives a significant boost in Update 2.3. Players now have access to many more color options for existing car brands, and for the first time, motorcycles can also be customized. At launch, 32 different vehicles are customizable, with 205 generic paint jobs and 168 unique paint jobs added to the game’s traffic. This expanded customization is explained in-universe as a hacker’s exploit, making advanced paint options available even for lower-end vehicles.

Photo Mode has been substantially upgraded, offering more creative freedom. Players can now adjust the time of day and weather conditions within Photo Mode. A total of 27 new NPCs, including characters like Rita Wheeler, the Cassel twins, Dum Dum, and Brendan, can be added to scenes, and their outfits can be customized. V’s saved wardrobe outfits can also be swapped within Photo Mode. New features include a “Look at camera” option that allows only character eyes to turn towards the camera, independent of their body pose. Lighting has been improved, with lights now spawning around the camera and an outline for spotlights. Additional stickers, frames, and quote overlays are available to personalize screenshots. Depth of Field has been refined and moved to the Camera tab, and a new Color Balance tab allows for custom filter creation. The new Time and Weather tab provides options for various weather conditions (rain, acid rain, fog, sandstorm, pollution, sunny) and the ability to change the time of day. “Frame Forward” allows advancing through an unlimited number of frames, and “Game Speed” enables in-game time to progress while in Photo Mode.

Technical Upgrades and Quality of Life

Update 2.3 brings several technical enhancements, particularly for PC users with compatible hardware. New graphics options include AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation, Intel XeSS 2.0 with XeSS Frame Generation, and Intel HDR10+ gaming support. AMD FSR 4 is also planned to be supported once compatible graphics card drivers are updated. For console players, HDR10+ VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) is now supported on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.

Quality of life improvements aim to make the game more accessible and user-friendly. The game now automatically detects inverted mouse button settings and adjusts in-game prompts accordingly. An option to toggle aiming down sights has been added to the Settings → Controls menu.

Several job and open-world issues have been addressed. In “Cyberpsycho Sighting: Bloody Ritual,” the “Crack the ritualist’s shard” objective now correctly disappears from the Journal upon completion. “Sex on Wheels” properly appears in the Journal after receiving Jake Estevez’s message. For “Shot by Both Sides,” an issue where a specific dialogue option created a nameless item in inventory has been fixed, as well as an issue preventing the elevator button for the lower level from appearing. Gameplay fixes include resolving an issue in Trauma Drama where the controllable character would shoot upwards instead of forward with a controller. Players can now drop additional Cyberware Capacity Shards if previous ones were missed within the intended drop limit. An issue causing automatic weapons to fire slower than intended has also been corrected.

Mac Release and Console VRR

Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is now available on Mac machines with Apple Silicon, launching on July 17th. Players who already own the game on GOG, Steam, or the Epic Games Store can play it on compatible Mac devices. Alternatively, the game can be purchased through the Mac App Store or other PC storefronts. This expansion to Mac broadens the game’s accessibility to a new platform.

As previously mentioned, console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X will benefit from HDR10+ VRR support, enhancing the visual experience with compatible displays. The update is also slated to arrive on Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date.
